Privacy notice
1. Who is responsible
The controller of your data is Projekt Trstenko. This is a school project that collects voice recordings to teach a desk assistant called Trstenko to recognise its name.
2. Why we collect data
Only to train and test the wake-word model of the Trstenko desk assistant prototype: a small program that should react when someone says the word "Trstenko". The recordings are used for nothing else.
3. Legal basis
Your consent, Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. For people under 15, a parent or legal guardian gives the consent on their behalf (Article 8 GDPR and the Slovenian Personal Data Protection Act, ZVOP-2, which sets the age of digital consent at 15).
4. What we collect
- The audio you record or upload, and the optional note you type for the reviewer.
- Your age group (15 or older / under 15) and, for people under 15, the name of the parent or guardian who consented.
- The consent record: which version of this notice you agreed to, when, and in which language.
- A random contributor ID that links your clips to your consent, and a hash of your personal code (never the code itself).
- Optional technical details of the take: the type of device you chose and which suggestion you were shown.
- Your IP address, only to deal with abuse. It is deleted automatically after 30 days.
We do not ask for your name (except the parent's name for under-15s), address, email or any account. Please do not say or write personal details in clips or notes.
5. Is a voice biometric data?
A voice can identify a person, so recordings are personal data. We do not use them to identify anyone: the model we train should react to anyone saying the word. We do not build speaker identification or verification from this data. If that ever changed, we would ask for new, explicit consent first.
6. Who receives your data
- The project team, who review and use the clips.
- Hetzner Online GmbH as hosting provider and processor. The data is stored in the EU (Germany / Finland (EU)). Nothing is transferred outside the EU/EEA.
- The person who co-administers the server this runs on. They have system-administrator access to the server, including this data, but are not part of the project team. They have agreed in writing not to view, copy or use this data, and to help delete it if asked.
We do not publish the recordings, sell them, share them as a dataset or use them for automated decisions about you.
7. How long we keep it

8. Your rights
You have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, to receive it in a portable form, and to withdraw your consent at any time without affecting the processing done before. On the My data page you can download everything we hold about you and delete it with one click, using your personal code. You can also write to us.
You may complain to the supervisory authority: Informacijski pooblaščenec Republike Slovenije, www.ip-rs.si.
9. What withdrawing can and cannot do
When you withdraw, we delete your clips everywhere we hold them, including copies already exported for training. A model that was already trained on a clip cannot forget that single clip, and we do not retrain or delete a model because of a withdrawal. Withdrawing stops any future use of your clips: they are not used in later training runs.
10. Cookies
We only use strictly necessary cookies, so there is no cookie banner. We use no analytics or tracking.
